Group Exhibition

January 19 - March 1, 2024

We are thrilled to present:

“Shades of Identity” is a dynamic group exhibition of work by 15 artists, celebrating Black individuals' beauty, resilience, and diverse experiences. Through a collection of captivating portraits, this exhibition aims to shed light on different approaches to representing Black subjects and narratives that may challenge preconceived notions. By showcasing diverse artistic approaches, this exhibition invites viewers to engage in a dialogue about representation and identity.

This exhibition showcases a range of artistic approaches, from realistic paintings that capture intricate details of individual features to experimental mixed-media pieces that merge traditional and contemporary techniques. Each artwork encapsulates the artist's journey of self-discovery while engaging with broader themes of race, culture, and societal perceptions.

In a world where identity is constantly evolving and being redefined, “Shades of Identity” is a powerful testament to the resilience and creativity of Black Artists. In this transformative exhibition, visitors can engage with the artists' creative processes, gaining insight into the motivations and intentions behind their works. By doing so, the exhibition fosters a deeper understanding of the complexities of black identity and the power of art as a means of self-expression and social commentary.

Moreover, this exhibition serves as a call to action for viewers to support and engage with the local art scene. By showcasing the immense talent within our region, we hope to ignite a renewed appreciation for local artists and their contributions. We encourage visitors to explore the artworks, engage in meaningful conversations, and consider supporting these artists through the purchase of their works.
